Wisewear theme guide

Version 1.1.0 · Updated 1 November 2026

Wisewear is a Shopify theme designed for gadget, audio, charging, and accessory catalogs. This guide covers the current theme files. It is not evidence of Shopify Theme Store approval. Use the support section below for theme questions. Store-specific payments, apps, and checkout behavior must be tested in your own store.

1. Install and preview

For a developer-supplied ZIP, open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Import theme / Add theme → Upload ZIP file. Select wisewear-theme.zip, not the documentation bundle. The ZIP must contain the theme folders directly, including assets, config, layout, sections, snippets, and templates. Shopify's theme installation instructions cover the current admin flow.

Open the theme editor for the newly uploaded theme. Keep it unpublished while configuring it. Preview desktop and mobile. Publishing changes the storefront customers see, so complete the launch checklist first. Keep a copy of your previous theme for rollback.

Theme installation does not create products, collections, pages, menus, discount codes, or subscription plans. Those are store data. The local Wisewear preview is a demonstration, not an importable store catalog.

2. First setup

  1. Add your real products, prices, stock, descriptions, variants, and images. Make intended products available to the Online Store sales channel.
  2. Create useful collections, such as Audio, Charging, and Accessories, using your actual catalog.
  3. In the theme editor, open Theme settings. Set heading/body fonts, page width, animations, favicon, and optional page-loading logo.
  4. Open Header. Set the logo or wordmark, desktop/mobile sizes, and main menu.
  5. Open Footer. Set its logo, menu, business description, and store-specific content.
  6. Configure each home-page section with your own collections, links, imagery, and text. Remove sections you do not need.
  7. Create About and Contact pages, then assign the corresponding page templates when available in the page's template selector. Add their links to your menus. If an unpublished template is not selectable in admin, preview its layout in the theme editor and assign it when available.
  8. Configure store payments, shipping, policies, taxes, and customer notification details separately in Shopify admin.

3. Header and navigation

Choose the main menu in Header. Nested menu links become desktop mega menus and expandable mobile groups. Use clear category names and verify every destination.

The Default mega menu image supplies a fallback preview. Menu link image blocks let you override a specific link's image; use the exact matching link URL. Product and collection links can use their own linked imagery.

Search opens a dialog. Favorites are stored in the shopper's browser; they do not synchronize across accounts or devices. Shopping bag opens the cart drawer. Test all three with real products.

4. Build your homepage

Add sections through the theme editor and drag them into the desired order. Section names below match the current schema. Available controls vary by section.

Section What to configure
Image slideshow Slide images, optional mobile images, text, buttons, slide height, autoplay, interval, and navigation. Use consistent image proportions across slides.
Shop by category / Collection cards Collections, custom labels, images, and destinations. Verify each selection on a fresh store.
Featured collection Select a populated collection and product count.
Collection showcase Choose tabs or split-banner layout; configure collections, banner, card options, and quick add.
Product spotlight Select the featured product, optional image, copy, and destination.
Feature tiles / Values and benefits Add concise, accurate benefit blocks and icons.
Image with text / Editorial text Add brand content and a useful destination.
Split promo banners / Bento promo grid Configure each card's image, copy, link, and layout. Preview stacking on mobile.
Scrolling marquee banner Set items, speed, direction, spacing, and pause behavior. Keep essential information readable without motion.
Parallax cinematic banner Set desktop/mobile imagery, overlay, card position, and links.
Countdown sale banner Enter an actual promotion deadline, copy, and coupon code. Create the discount separately in Shopify.
Review reels (Videos) Add permitted customer/creator videos, product links, and genuine review details.
Customer stories Replace all sample review text with authentic, permissioned content before publishing.
FAQ accordion Add store-specific questions and answers.
Newsletter Add your invitation and consent wording, then test an actual signup.
Custom Liquid For carefully reviewed custom code. Duplicate the theme before editing code.

Use desktop and mobile padding controls where provided. Choose accessible colors and readable font sizes. Desktop banner art can crop differently on mobile; use a mobile image where the section supports it. Keep important text in text fields rather than only in images.

For countdowns, include a timezone offset in the date, for example 2026-12-31T23:59:59+05:30. A date without an offset is interpreted in the visitor's timezone. Expired or invalid dates show the ended state. A timer does not create, activate, or end a Shopify discount.

5. Products, variants, and pricing

Product content comes from Shopify's product record. Check every option combination, including sold-out and nonexistent combinations. Changing an option refreshes purchasing details. If a request fails, the interface pauses purchasing and provides a reload link.

Enter the amount charged in Price. A higher Compare-at price produces crossed-out reference pricing and savings. The current interface uses the label “MRP”; check whether that wording is appropriate for your store before launch. Do not enter an invented reference price.

Product details includes mobile purchase controls and gallery settings. Configure the gallery layout, thumbnails, arrows, pagination, and zoom only after checking them with your own image and video mix.

Subscriptions require a compatible app and selling plans configured in Shopify. The theme displays existing allocations; it does not supply a subscription service. Accelerated payment branding depends on Shopify and enabled payment methods.

Optional product metafields

Create product metafield definitions through Shopify's custom-data settings, then populate each product. These are optional enhancements, not a catalog-import mechanism.

Namespace/key Intended data
custom.short_description Multi-line introduction
custom.highlights List of single-line benefit text
custom.specifications, custom.compatibility, custom.warranty Multi-line or rich-text product information
custom.materials, custom.dimensions, custom.care_instructions, custom.in_the_box Multi-line product details
custom.story_title Single-line story heading
custom.story Rich text
custom.story_image File reference restricted to images

Product story also has section settings. Product reviews and apps accepts app content; install and configure your chosen app first. Product recommendations depend on Shopify data and configuration and can remain hidden when no results are returned.

6. Collections, cart, and discounts

Configure collection filters in Shopify Search & Discovery and test the rendered collection page. Choose a sort order, apply filters, clear them, and test pagination and empty results.

Theme settings → Cart drawer controls featured add-ons, their collection, and the coupon box. Products that need options or additional purchase setup should be opened on their product page.

Test add, remove, quantity changes, zero-price discounted lines, and the full cart page. Coupon feedback distinguishes saving a code from final eligibility; inspect the actual discount and checkout totals. Order notes are available on the full cart page.

7. Pages and content

Available template families include home, product, collection, all collections, cart, search, blog, article, standard page, About, Contact, 404, password, and issued gift card. Do not advertise other template types until implemented and tested.

Replace sample text, placeholder imagery, review claims, menu destinations, and promotion details. Enter accurate page titles and search descriptions in Shopify. Check social-sharing previews using the deployed store URL.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem What to check
ZIP will not upload Use wisewear-theme.zip, not the guide bundle; keep the ZIP intact. Record Shopify's exact error.
Products are missing Product publication, collection contents, section collection selection, inventory, and active filters.
Preview differs from the demo Products, menus, photographs, apps, and pages are separate store data.
Wrong image crop Image proportions, section height, mobile image, and gallery settings.
Buy button disabled Option availability, missing combination, inventory, quantity rules, and any loading error.
Coupon does not reduce the total Code configuration, dates, eligibility, minimums, and Shopify checkout results.
No recommendations Product recommendation configuration and availability of related products.
Favorites disappeared Browser storage may have been cleared or blocked; another device has separate favorites.
Loader or animations absent Check animations, loader setting, reduced-motion preference, and theme-editor preview.
App is not visible App installation, enabled app embed/block, template placement, and compatibility.
Countdown ended Check the date and timezone offset; expired timers intentionally do not restart.

9. Launch and updates

Before publishing, complete a test order, verify cart totals and stock behavior, test contact and newsletter delivery, and inspect all menu links. Test mobile and desktop layouts, keyboard navigation, long titles, empty collections, and app interactions.

For an update, preserve the previous theme, review release notes, and test a separate copy with your current content. Do not assume custom code transfers automatically. Record customizations before replacing files. Recheck checkout after any purchasing changes.

10. Getting support

Contact Ybav on WhatsApp at +91 7356143802. Theme support covers questions about the supplied theme and reproducible theme defects. Bespoke design, custom development, third-party app work, and Shopify account administration require separate scoping. No response-time commitment is specified here.

Include your store URL, theme version, page URL, expected and actual behavior, steps to reproduce, device/browser, and screenshots. Never send passwords, payment details, or customer personal data in a support request.

11. Version 1.1.0 features

Footer country and language selectors appear when your store offers multiple choices. Configure Markets and published languages in Shopify first. The theme includes editable English strings; you must supply translations for additional languages through your store's translation workflow.

Search results now include the filters available from Shopify and a sort selector. Configure Search & Discovery filters, then verify query, price, availability, and clear-filter behavior.

The full cart includes Shopify accelerated checkout and installment output when available. The product form also displays eligible installment information. Pickup locations appear for the selected variant when local pickup is configured.

Gift-card products include an optional recipient email, name, message, and send date. Recipient delivery uses Add to bag, rather than accelerated product checkout. Dates can be up to 90 days ahead. Issued gift cards display code, balance/status, a QR code, and an Apple Wallet link when Shopify supplies one. Test actual issuance and delivery before launch.

The password page is now customizable and can show newsletter signup. A storefront password is separate from the Shopify admin login.

12. Frequently asked questions

Does installation import the demo catalog?

No. The theme supplies presentation and settings. Products, collections, menus, images, apps, and policies are store-specific and must be configured separately.

Can I try the demo?

Visit the Wisewear demo store and enter the storefront password ybav. Do not use your Shopify admin password.

Does the theme guarantee a speed score or sales increase?

No. Performance and commercial outcomes depend on content, apps, devices, networks, traffic, and other store conditions. Measure your own storefront.

Are payments and subscriptions included?

Payment availability depends on Shopify and your payment providers. Subscriptions require compatible apps and selling plans. The theme is not a payment gateway or subscription service.

How do I report a problem?

Use the support link above with a reproducible description, theme version, and affected page. Provide temporary collaborator access only through an agreed secure workflow when necessary. Never send passwords.

Is Wisewear approved by the Shopify Theme Store?

This documentation does not indicate review or approval. Check the official listing and Shopify review status rather than treating this guide as certification.
